Black Friday 2026 in Moldova: dates and practical tips

Every autumn the same question comes back: when is Black Friday in Moldova, and is it worth waiting for? We worked out the dates, and we also looked at what stores did with their prices in October. The picture is not exactly festive.

When is Black Friday 2026 in Moldova?

Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. In 2026 that is 26 November, so Black Friday is on 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on 30 November. Stores in Moldova no longer stick to a single day: campaigns run for a week or the whole month.

Who has already announced campaigns

On 31 October 2026 we see a live Black Friday page at Ultra.md, promising "discounts of up to −70% on thousands of products". The other large stores we track have not announced their 2026 campaigns yet, or have not put them on their websites. We will update this article as soon as the details appear. The main wave of announcements will most likely come in November, closer to the Friday itself, so it pays to make your wish list early, while you can still compare prices calmly.

Read the small print. "Up to −70%" almost never means everything is that much cheaper. The consumer protection inspectorate warns plainly that the maximum discount in an ad does not apply to every product.

What does the law say about discounts?

Under the rules in the Republic of Moldova, a retailer announcing a discount must show the previous price, meaning the lowest price charged in the 30 days before the discount. This is the main tool against "inflating the price before the sale". If a product cost 1,000 lei in September, 1,300 in early November and 1,100 "with a 15% discount" on Black Friday, the legal reference point is 1,000 lei.

The State Inspectorate for Non-Food Product Surveillance and Consumer Protection recommends that you:

• check that the discount is real and that the previous price is shown;
• compare prices of similar products in several stores and on several platforms;
• be wary of wording like "up to −70%";
• keep the receipt or invoice, since it is your proof of purchase.

October: prices headed up

October was a month of price rises. Of the 2,594 offers we tracked for the whole month, 544 rose by at least 5% and 315 by at least 10%. Here are examples where even the lowest price on the market went up:

If these products get "15% cheaper" at the end of November, they are really just going back to their early-October price. And 625 offers already cost 5% or more above their lowest price of the past 30 days.

What has already got cheaper?

Not everything is going up. In October the lowest price of several accessories fell before any campaign had started:

If you need something on this list, we would not wait until the end of November. The price is already lower than a month ago, and there is no guarantee it will drop further on Black Friday.

Picking the right store saves more than any discount

The biggest saving often comes not from a discount but from the choice of store. The median gap between the lowest and highest price for the same product is 17.8%. For 157 products it is over 1,000 lei, and for 57 it is over 5,000 lei.

How to get ready for Black Friday in 4 weeks

1. Make a list of 3–5 products you actually need.
2. Write down today's prices: bookmark the product page on PriceList.md, where you can see the price history.
3. Compare all stores, not just your favourite one: gaps of 20–50% are common.
4. Check the previous price on the tag. It must be the 30-day lowest.
5. Work out the final total: delivery, instalments and "free gifts" can cancel out the discount.
6. Don't leave it to the last minute if the price is already good: popular models sell out.

Price cuts that came before Black Friday

Some stores did not wait for November. We only counted these cuts once the new price had held until the end of the month:

Save this table. If on 27 November the same product is sold "on sale" at a higher price than shown here, it is not a discount. We checked every cut twice, mid-month and at the end of the month, so we would not send you after a "deal" that has already gone.

How to check a discount on PriceList.md

Every product page in the catalog shows prices from all stores that have it in stock, plus the price history. That lets you answer three questions in a minute: is the "sale" price lower than last month's lowest; does another store sell the same product cheaper without any promotion; and did the price go up right before the sale started? If the history shows the product cost less in early October than it does "on sale", it is not a discount but a return to the old price. We update prices daily, so open the product page once more before you buy.
