We checked every offer in the PriceList.md catalogue on 2 November 2026, and the answer depends heavily on how much storage you want.

Who should buy the 18 Pro?
If you replace your phone every three or four years, a model released now will get updates for longer and lose less value when you resell it. At 256 GB, paying 3,500 lei more than for the 17 Pro Max is a premium many people accept for a brand-new phone in a more compact body.
Who is better off with the 17 Pro Max?
Anyone who wants a big screen and a big battery without going past 30,000 lei. At 512 GB the 17 Pro Max costs 30,249 lei, while the 18 Pro Max with the same storage is 39,699 lei. If you shoot a lot of video and keep everything on the phone, the saving is real.
On a tighter budget, the 17 Pro with 256 GB starts at 23,999 lei. We looked at the 17 series in more detail in our iPhone 17 price analysis and the iPhone 16 vs iPhone 17 comparison.
What about the iPhone Duo?
The foldable iPhone Duo 256 GB starts at 52,999 lei, almost the price of two base iPhone 17 Pro Max units. It is for people who specifically want the new form factor; as an everyday phone it is hard to justify on value for now.
